How it Works

The TURF RAKE is a stone picker, which will penetrate the soil, remove stone and level the target area, all in one pass. A high volume hopper holds the debris, which is elevated from the soil. The TURF RAKE cleans and levels in one process leaving the area ready for seeding, eliminating the need for multiple machines.

The Barber TURF RAKE stone picker quickly and efficiently grades loose or scarified soil removing stone, sod, roots, wood and similar debris. It leaves a gently harrowed area, prepared for seeding. It is used by site contractors, landscape contractors, golf course builders, green keepers, highway contractors, park departments and horse farms. The TURF RAKE can quickly do the work that previously took many men hours of hand raking or operating multiple machines.

All Models of TURF RAKES work similarly: The moldboard levels uneven areas in the soil. Individually replaceable stainless steel tines mounted on a belt-covered bar flight conveyor rake debris from the soil toward an adjustable deflector plate. As a result, debris is deposited on the elevating portion of the conveyor, which transports the debris to the hopper, which can be hydraulically raised and tripped for efficient dumping.
